New energy systems
A new industry contract signed by Barbara Pompili, Agnès Pannier-Runacher and all the players in the sector
On Thursday 4 November, Barbara Pompili, Minister for Ecological Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister Delegate for Industry, Claire Waysand, Chairwoman of the New Energy Systems Strategic Committee (CSF) and Chief Executive Officer of Engie, Sylvie Jéhanno, Vice-Chairwoman of the CSF and Chairman and CEO of Dalkia, as well as representatives of the trade unions, signed the “New Energy Systems” strategic contract for the years 2021-2023.
This contract, which is in line with the logic and continuity of the previous contract, takes full account of the upheavals caused by the health crisis. It aims to accelerate the energy transition while developing French industry and jobs in this sector. It formalises the reciprocal commitments of the State, industrialists and trade unions around the major priorities of the energy transition and the development of the related industry, by integrating the challenges of the evolution of professions and skills. As a reminder, the sector brings together all the industrialists involved in the energy transition (renewable energies, low-carbon and renewable hydrogen, energy efficiency, energy networks and storage).
It represents 40 billion euros in turnover and 210,000 jobs in France. The contract signed also provides for the launch of a platform to put decarbonised energy players and manufacturers in touch with each other
It is structured around four priorities:
- develop a competitive renewable and low-carbon energy supply,
- optimising energy efficiency and energy use,
- initiate a strategic industrial reconquest and
- federate the sector around transversal dynamics and change management.
