PORT OF SETE
Critical Facilities
In accordance with its commitments, in December 2023 the Port of Sète delivered stage 1 of its project to electrify the quays of the commercial port of Sète. After 2.5 years of work, ro-ro ships, car carriers and ferries will now be able to use the electricity distributed by the national grid, thereby improving air quality and reducing noise from ships at berth.
The infrastructure offers great flexibility, with 4 connection points on 3 different platforms at 6.6KV or 11KV and 50hz or 60hz, supplied by 3 telescopic jibs 10 m to 12 m high and a jib on a mobile trolley. The total installed power is 6.3MW, divided into 1 unit of 2.6MW and 2 units of 1.8MW.
This €7M investment was 80% funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The whole project team has risen to the technical and scheduling challenge!
