A TURN-KEY PROJECT
Restructuring the Boulevard Voltaire site in Paris
Cap Ingelec was hired by Telehouse for the restructuring of the ground floor of its Boulevard Voltaire site in Paris.
Telehouse decided to restructure its Boulevard Voltaire site in Paris to free up space and increase its hosting capacities. It hired Cap Ingelec to provide a turn-key operation design-build (preparation, main structure and finishing works, climate-control, and ventilation). In order to accomplish this, it was necessary to create an office area to host 3 departments including security agents and to transform the Security PC into a 180m² IT room having an IT power of 170 kW.
In order to equip the room with a maximum number of IT bays, Cap Ingelec proposed standard urbanization (a false-floor and re-design of the general ambiance) and the installation of 4 IT islands built around a confined cold aisle.

Why was Cap Ingelec chosen for this project?
During its presentation, the company made a great impression based on its experience, its references and size (Cap Ingelec has more than 200 engineers throughout France). We appreciated its “all trades” teams and its emphasis on project supervision. It had the exact know-how to perform interventions at an occupied site, a very decisive criteria in our selection of a partner for this particular project.
What were the main constraints at this site?
The work took place at an operational site within the heart of Paris. It was imperative that the ongoing activity and power sources not be disrupted by the interventions. In addition, the work took place within a highly-confined space. Cap Ingelec knew how to meet such requirements and to accommodate a client who requested various modifications along the way.
How did Cap Ingelec meet your expectations?
The company was very flexible, responsive, and adapted to the constraints of a confined space, ongoing operations, and project modifications. This operation was completed in a very short 6 months. The collaboration went very well and will probably lead to other work.

With more than 7,000 m², Telehouse Paris Voltaire is one of the largest datacenters in intramuros Paris. Hosting a large number of telecommunications operators, the site constitutes a central hub for 80% of the direct Internet traffic in France!
